As Christian parents, my husband and my desire are to guide our children to know and love the Lord. In an attempt to encourage them to truly understand the foundations and premise of God, is why I’m always on the lookout for resources that teach from a creation science perspective. Being able to find resources that draw us closer to the Lord and to the validity of the Bible from beginning to end is such a blessing.

It’s important to us to prepare our sons to be confident and know the “why” of what they believe. To grow in their faith and own personal relationship with Christ. So finding resources that assist in teaching our children from a creation science point of view will encourage them to seek God’s truth and question those things that contradict the Bible.
One such resource I heard about and was excited to use is the beautifully illustrated hardcover book Do You See What I See? High Altitude Evidence of the Worldwide Flood by Chuck Renstrom. This book absolutely grabbed all my sons’ attention, yes even my one-year-old’s attention.
The pictures in the book are outstanding! It sparks curiosity and makes the account of Noah come alive.
It also led us to have juicy conversations about the Bible, Science, History, and especially our faith. I love finding a resource that teaches from a creation science perspective and opens up the doors to learning opportunities that will cultivate a love of learning in our children.
About the Author Chuck Renstrom
Chuck has a background in broadcasting and photography. When he retired he started working on his book Do you see what I see?. This book was a four-year project in which he took thousands of pictures of fossilized animals in nearby rock formations around the state of Colorado. Because of the pictures he took it led him to want to research his findings and to study geology.
This is what Chuck had to say when he submerged himself in his research.
“The evolutionary theories I studied did nothing to explain what I was seeing in nature. In fact, what I was observing contradicted those theories. My searching for answers took me to several creation ministries. Their published materials come from men and women with strong scientific backgrounds-many of them with a PhD in their area of expertise. I learned about radiohalos, plate tectonics, how rock is formed, radiometric dating, how the fossilization process is accomplished, and much more. For anyone who is interested in learning what I have learned, I would suggest two organizations: Answers in Genesis and The Institute for Creation Research.”

Chuck Renstrom received First Place Award from the Colorado Independent Publishers Association for his book Do you see what I see? High Altitude Evidence of the Worldwide Flood.

What I Love About This Creation Science Book
What I loved about this book is that it is filled with opportunities to create great conversations with our children in a very natural way. You can cover so many subjects with just this one book.
Here are some examples of the topics we covered because of this book.
Bible- We read the account of Noah from our Bibles. We talk about the flood and God’s promise of not destroying the world again with a flood. I got to answer questions that came up as we read the Word. We also looked up a few of the scriptures that Chuck shared in his book and dug a little deeper.
Science- We went online and found Youtube videos that talked about fossils, how rocks are formed, radiometric dating and plate tectonics. We also looked up what type of animals you can find in the state of Colorado and each of us picked an animal to research.
History- We went online and learned about Colorado’s history and about the dinosaurs fossils that were found in different parts of Colorado. We read up on the history of the famous spots mentioned in the book like The Garden of the Gods, Red Rocks Park, Colorado National Monument, Dinosaur National Monument, and the Grand Mesa.
We never expected to go on so many rabbit trails and learn all that we did with this book. It was a blessing in disguise! We love how it ignited our boys’ curiosity and sense of wonder which led us on a path of adventurous learning.
When we find a book that encourages the love of learning in our boys we know it’s a book worth keeping.
