Discovering Mr. D Math for Homeschoolers Online Curriculum
For the last two years, I have heard wonderful things about Mr. D Math but I never looked into it because my oldest was still young. There really wasn’t a need at the time to look into Mr. D Math, but throughout this past year I kept hearing about his online curriculum.
So, when I was given the opportunity to try out Mr. D Math I was really excited because I would finally get front row seats to see what all the rave was about in regards to this online Math curriculum. Let me just say that all that raving about Mr. D Math was deservedly true. So let ‘s talk more about this fantastic online curriculum and virtual classroom.
Who and What is Mr.D. Math
Mr. D known as Mr. D Math is Dennis DiNoia, a former public school teacher with over 25 years of teaching experience. He left the public school system to create his own math curriculum that covers Pre-Algebra to ACT Prep, plus he also has added other helpful classes in the last year or so.
Meet Mr. D
His math curriculum is designed with homeschoolers in mind. It’s set up where the student will work independently by watching the online video lesson, completing the assignments, taking notes and quizzes, and looking over the solutions. There are also different options on how to take the courses as well.
His approach to teaching math to his students is to teach them that math is a language, which is different from other math curriculums we have used. One of the things that I love about his approach to teaching math is that he makes math make sense. He shows how math can be found in everyday life.

My Thoughts About Mr. D Math
I think Mr. Math is so neat. What I love about Mr. D Math is his unique approach to teaching Math as a language. By teaching math as a language, Mr. D shows students that math is more than a set of rules, that it’s a living language that we need to learn to read. When we learn to read it…it will make a whole lot of sense. 🙂 I also enjoyed his teaching style when I participated in one of his live classes.
He was so welcoming! I enjoyed seeing how he welcomed and greeted each student that would log in to the virtual live class. The students seemed comfortable and they were all greeting each other. I found that encouraging to see.
This is our oldest giving Mr. D Math a try.
He truly has a gift of teaching higher level math in such a way that he untangles the complicated parts and turns it into something so simple to understand. He also uses pictures when he teaches which makes it easy to remember the concept being taught.
Even though my oldest will not be ready to take any of Mr. D’s courses until a year or two from now I have become a fan of Mr. D and have found the Math curriculum that I will be using when it comes time to teach our son any higher level math.
