It’s not an easy task to raise godly boys but we know that we, godly moms, are called to intentionally raise our boys to love God, follow Christ’s footsteps, and fulfill their God-given destiny. More than that, we are called to raise godly boys to conquer the world!
We know we live in a spiritual war zone and truth is that, in this war zone, what we don’t conquer, will end up conquering us.

“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:12)

It's not an easy task to raise godly boys but we know that we, godly moms, are called to intentionally raise our boys to love God, follow Christ's footsteps, and fulfill their God-given destiny. More than that, we are called to raise godly boys to conquer the world!

We Need to Raise Godly Boys Who Are Not of This World

Christians have three major enemies: the devil, the world, and the flesh. In this post, we will focus on only one – the world! By the world, I mean the corrupted and godless world system we live in.

Our boys are being bombed with ungodly messages every day. Either through the television (commercials, movies, cartoons, etc), over on the internet being exposed to porn on average around age 10, through ungodly relationships in schools, etc. Literally, whenever they turn their necks, this world system is ready to corrupt their minds and hearts with ungodly things.

“If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.” (John 15:19).

As Jesus prayed for His disciples in John 17:15-17, He said: “I am not asking that You take them out of the world, but that You keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, just as I am not of the world. Sanctify them by the truth; Your word is truth.

Our boys must know God’s Word, the Truth that sets them free from the patterns of this world and leads them to do God’s will.

Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is–his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:2.

Godly Parents’ Ultimate Calling

As godly mothers, our first and most important calling is to teach our children to love the Lord and obey His commands.

Now this is the commandment, and these are the statutes and judgments which the Lord your God has commanded to teach you, that you may observe them in the land which you are crossing over to possess, that you may fear the Lord your God, to keep all His statutes and His commandments which I command you, you and your son and your grandson, all the days of your life, and that your days may be prolonged. Therefore hear, O Israel, and be careful to observe it, that it may be well with you, and that you may multiply greatly as the Lord God of your fathers has promised you—‘a land flowing with milk and honey.’

Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God, the Lordis one! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength.

And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down, and when you rise up.You shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and they shall be as frontlets between your eyes. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates. (Deuteronomy 1-9)

Jesus called this the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:37). If we do our part and diligently teach our children, we will raise children who will be wise and obedient.

“My son, keep your father’s commandment and forsake not your mother’s teaching” (Proverbs 6:20)

It's not an easy task to raise godly boys but we know that we, godly moms, are called to intentionally raise our boys to love God, follow Christ's footsteps, and fulfill their God-given destiny. More than that, we are called to raise godly boys to conquer the world!

3 More Things We Need To Do In Order To Raise Godly Boys To Conquer the World:

We Need to Raise Godly Boys Rooted In Their God-Given Identity

Strong godly boys, taught in The Word, know who they are in Christ! These boys know that they are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14) and that they are destined for no ordinary life.

Godly boys rooted in their God-given identity know that they are more than conquerors in Christ Jesus (Romans 8:37) and that they can do all things through Him who strengthens them (Philippians 4:13). Godly boys know that with God nothing is impossible! They walk in faith and bold confidence, not in fear. They are victors, not victims, they are strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might (Ephesians 6:10).

We Need to Raise Godly Boys Who Are Prayer Warriors

Godly boys will grow up to be godly men who fight and win their battles on their knees! They know the power of prayer and are not ashamed of bending their knees before the Lord, their maker. They know the Word and they declare The Word out loud over themselves, their loved ones, and their circumstances.

Their mind is in perfect peace because they trust The Lord (Isaiah 26:3). In need, they pray. In doubt, they seek God’s face. Their relationship with God is solid. Peace is their guide, fear has no place in their hearts – they are fearless warriors!

The best way to teach them to be prayer warriors is by example! They see us kneeling in prayer, reading God’s Word, and trusting God through the storms in life. Then, they will learn to submit their prayers and supplications to God, to declare God’s Word over their circumstances, and to trust God with all their hearts.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice. Let your reasonableness be known to everyone. The Lord is at hand; do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:7)

We Need to Raise Godly Boys Who Are Servant-Leaders

“Everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted.” (Luke 14:11)

Jesus is the greatest example of a servant-leader our boys will ever know. He taught and embodied leadership as service. Everything He did was to serve not His own will but the will of His Father.

Jesus humbled Himself and allowed God to exalt Him. Also, He followed His Father’s will rather than seeking a position. He defined greatness as being a servant and served wholeheartedly everyone around him.

Knowing He was the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, He still chose to leave His place at the right hand of God The Father to humbly serve the needs of others on this earth. Love was and is His greatest credential. The magnet that attracts us and makes our hearts desire to follow in His steps and to lead others to Him.

We need to raise godly boys who honor and respect others, gentlemen who put the needs of others first, who open doors for others to enter and patiently wait for their turns. Those who are not proud or self-seeking, but who in love and humbleness lead others to the Savior.

Let’s Raise Godly Boys To Be Mighty Leaders!

Dear mom or dad reading this, we can raise godly boys who are not of this world and will not conform to the patterns of this world but will conquer the world and be world changers. They will be godly leaders and influencers in their generation. Let’s teach them diligently and lead them by The Word and by example, praying always for godly virtues in their lives and daily training them in godly character.

May they live like Jesus, love like Jesus, and lead like Jesus.
